The pain and struggle of being sexually abused as a child lasts a life time for many people who experienced such an unthinkable encounter or relationship!

“My latest research, published this month in the journal Child Abuse and Neglect, describes the impact of child sexual abuse from a perspective that researchers don’t often talk about — the economic burden of violence and abuse in the U.S.”

Victims of Sexual Abuse Face a Lifetime of Costly Problems

My latest research, published this month in the journal Child Abuse and Neglect , describes the impact of child sexual abuse from a perspective that researchers don’t often talk about – the economic burden of violence and abuse in the U.S.

Now for the human side of the child sexual abuse problem.

On Passages, audio stories of faith and hope, our host/producer Dennis Benson talked with Jay, a survivor of sexual abuse, when he was a child. Jay is a young man now having turned away from drugs and alcohol to deal with life. An almost fatal auto accident helps him to wake-up as he works through relationships and a painful suppressed memory of being molested when he was young.  Click on the button below to listen to Jay’s Story.
